Wednesday January 11th at Dal Verme in Rome will take place the presentation of "Dirty Armada", a collection of Italian Heavy Metal logos. I wrote one of the prefaces in the book and I'll be there to support the event spinning records. Expect some hard rock and old Heavy Metal as I like it. Horns up, see ya there.

"Dirty Armada is a book about a lifelong passion. It's a collection of italian metal bands logos edited by Claudio Rocchetti, a gathering started when the author was 12 years old and that it's not yet over.

It's a book full of pure beauty and metal thrill, a visual study of decades of true underground. Thanks to the essays by Marcello Crescenzi and Ezio Sabbotigh we are going to take a further ride into our memories or maybe we'll give a name to the people that helped creating a whole imaginery.

This book counts 256 pages (14cm x 19cm x 2cm) with more than 1500 bands!

Un altro progetto targato Snob Production che integra web e territorio, creatività e cultura.
Un progetto curato per Nike, in occasione del grande evento The Chosen che si terrà a Roma, il 14-15-16 luglio nel Nike Actionpark.

Il concept dell'evento parte dalla forma, ispirata dallo "shape" dellla tavola Zorlac che venne realizzata per la band dei Metallica decenni fa, un connubio di forma e musica molto forti e riconoscibili all'interno dello skateboarding.
Su questa forma tipicamente old-school è improntata la scultura, sono sagomate le tavole ed è basata la comunicazione stampata.

Sarà un mini-laboratorio creativo adiacente all'area dell'evento in cui due artisti, un designer\scultore e un fotografo collaboreranno per sviluppare una scultura-skateabile, personalizzando delle tavole, documentando il processo creativo passo dopo passo.
Il pubblico sarà chiamato a partecipare, a dare una mano durante la costruzione, assistendo a tutto il processo giorno per giorno in ogni sua fase.

Disegnando una grafica sul retro flyer, appositamente sagomato con la forma della tavola in questione, consegnandola nei giorni dell'evento, i due partecipanti più talentuosi vinceranno un paio di Nike iD "Zoom Cush", personalizzate da Scarful & Rise Above e realizzate da Nike appositamente per l'evento.

"Per la prima edizione di “This Is My Store”, otto eventi di musica, fotografia ed arte, ideati ed organizzati da Snob Production per Carhartt in altrettanti importanti store in giro per l’Italia, Marcello Crescenzi, con il suo progetto Rise Above, ha realizzato una serie di pannelli illustrati per la comunicazione grafica del progetto.

Come di consueto nel suo lavoro, ha ricercato il “concept” nel passato, nella pietra, nella storia di ogni città: il risultato è stata la produzione di una serie di otto grandi ritratti di leoni, presi da monumenti e musei del luogo, uno per ogni città\tappa\store.

Il Leone come arcaico simbolo di fierezza, a rappresentare l’orgoglio per il proprio lavoro , concetto alla base della rassegna This Is My Store , e declinato nei volti  secolari degli elementi scultorei ritratti. Realizzati per essere esposti separatamente in ognuna delle città, vengono per la prima volta riuniti tutti assieme in una mostra realizzata nell’headquarter Snob Production\Carhartt.”

My studio is hosted inside the new Carhartt\Snob Production Headquarter which after a massive restyle is opening the 25th of May

I'll be part of the first Italian Poster Art exhibition with ten works.

It will take place from the 30th of April until the 22th of May at Villa Pacchiani, Santa Croce sull'Arno - Pisa.

Unluckily I can't be there but if you're around go check it, a lot of italian illustrators' work is displayed.

With the Rome's lion -which depicts a 300 a.c. lion hosted at Rome's Musei Capitolini the oldest museum in the world- my first run of artworks for Carhartt is finally done. It consists of eight 28"x 40" (70x100cm) portraits of monumental lions from eight cities and for eight different Carhartt stores's events. This project took 4 months of work and has been a nice partnership with Slam Jam and Snob Production.

This will become an exhibition somewhere around June 2011 so stay tuned for more news.

Today in Rome there is the last Carhartt event, in via Mantova 3, starting at 6.00pm. I'll be there so if you're around just drop by for a beer and some talk.

I'm developing a series of panels for the This is My Store campaign for Carhartt along with Slam Jam. You can see the first four of the eight panels here!

It has been an honor doing the poster for this year's Skateboard Society annual championship which is also the National Skateboarding Championship. A second poster with another design will be released for the second round of the championship in October, so stay tuned.
